About Me

My Mathematician/ Programmer Beginnings

In 1993, I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics. Computers were getting really popular then (Windows was just coming out!) and obviously, my first job was as a computer programmer for a consulting firm in Goderich, Ontario.

My main job was always as a go-between the users and the technology. I worked a lot with Insurance companies writing programs for their underwriters to use. I sat with the underwriters trying to understand their job so that I could create a program that would make their job easier. I would then train everyone in that new system.

Truthfully, I loved being the go-between between the people and the technology. It gave the computer world a lot of value in the regular lives of people for me.

The Farmer/Mom Years

After a few years, I began my family and became a full-time mom and farmer… a radical shift! I continued to write computer programs on the side for the farming community - including our own farm to track and understand the cows cycles and keep track of their health records - we had an organic dairy farm.

This decade or so of farm and family life taught me the importance of things having to have practical value. There was no point in theories and ideas if they didn’t help you at the end of a long hard day at work.

I feel exactly the same about sharing the world of computers with you. Everything I share has to be of practical value to you and it has to be completely understandable.

Tantra, Yoga, and More

In 1999, in the middle of the farm/family years, I had a health crisis that you can read about in my first book, “What If You Could Skip the Cancer?”. Here, I met my first spiritual teacher, Jim. After my miraculous healing, I saw the world very differently. My journey took me into Kundalini Yoga, Tantra, metaphysics, quantum physics, and so much more.

My life became even more rich with writing books, teaching, travelling, and offering more and more online courses.

Webdesign & Creating Online Courses

As my business in the spiritual world grew, I always did all of my own web-design, graphics, and marketing. I had the technology background, so it only made sense for me to use it. Therefore, I have been doing web design for the last 20 years going through all the twists and turns of using sometimes six different platforms at a time to do what I had to do. I would use WordPress for my website, Vimeo for my videos, Typeform for course homework, Ontraport for email marketing, and so on.

And then I discovered Kajabi! I didn’t have to pay for all of these different platforms. Everything could be under one roof. Everything would be integrated!

I was so thrilled (and still am)!

To be able to "go back to my roots" and help others create websites and online courses is super fun and I'm loving it! I especially love helping those who are more connected to the spiritual side of things and would normally find doing webdesign way out of their wheelhouse because they also don't often have thousands of dollars to pay someone else to do it. This way, they can shift and change their websites and online courses as their intuition moves them!

Spirituality and technology meet! After all, what's technology other than just a bunch of energy anyways! 😊
